An Ideal Hair Day with Lush Cosmetics

With my naturally curly hair, an ideal hair day for me is when my hair actually sits right and there's not a frizzy fly away in sight. Unfortunately, days like these are few and far in between- especially in the dry Winter air! My bae's at Lush understand the struggle too, so whether you're looking for help with volume and texture, scalp essentials, sleek and shiny locks or something to quench your thirsty hair like me, there are a myriad of products to choose from to suit your needs.

I have been trialling a few of Lush's latest additions to their haircare range and I must say I am beyond impressed with the products available to my hair needs!

Avocado Co-Wash (VEGAN)

Co-washing converts rejoice! Avocado Co-Wash has been created to use in place of traditional shampoo for hair that needs a lot of love and TLC.

How to use: Apply all over on wet hair, massage in and wash out. Your hair will be cleansed without being stripped of its natural oils. No need for extra shampoo or conditioner.

RRP $15.95 per 100g

 Kinky Hot Oil Treatment (VEGETARIAN)

Do the words 'frazzled hair' have a familiar ringlet? Hydrate curly locks with olive oil, lanolin and castor oil to strengthen and nourish hair. Healthy hair should be able to stretch to 30% of it's original length and olive oil helps to improve the tensile strength of hair. A fragrance of ylang ylang, rosewood and vetivert will linger in hair.

How to use: Take this solid treatment home, place in a mug and gradually add boiling hot water as you stir for a creamy consistency. Let the treatment cool to warm and apply to dry hair. Leave for up to 20 minutes before shampooing to allow the ingredients to get to work.

RRP $9.95 each

Sunny Day Anti-Static Hair Detangler (VEGETARIAN)

This anti-tangling spray contains fresh lemon juice and honey to help prevent knots and calm static and flyaway hair. Suitable for static prone hair, this can be spritzed onto wet or dry hair.

How to use: Spritz and smooth through damp or dry hair as part of your routine or apply as needed.

RRP $14.95

Queen Bee Hair Honey (VEGETARIAN)

Beeswax and honey moisturise and soften, boosted by corn oil, argan oil and moringa oil with ylang ylang ethically sourced from Ghana. Roobios tea infusion with stimulating cinnamon helps to promote scalp and hair health, growth and shine.

How to use: Take a slice and warm this multi-use balm gently between your hands to create a nutritious oil, which you can work through the scalp and hair to facilitate your favourite style.

RRP $15.95 for 100g

I'm a firm believer in the whole 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' concept but there's something about these products that make my hair come alive. My hair feels infinitely more nourished and my curls are just as shaped and bouncy as if I had suddenly reverted back to my 5 year old mops of curls! I am so incredibly impressed with my new haircare routine and I would definitely encourage you to take the time and head in store or online to customise and tailor these products to your own hair care needs.

  3. I'll have to give this a go! I haven't really tried their hair care stuff, but I've heard people really love it because it's free from all the harsh chemicals. I can never stay away from their store. You can smell it a mile away! Ahhhhh... ;p

  4. These products look interesting but they sound like they work wonders for your hair. Your hair looks absolutely amazing. Is your natural color red, and you have some highlight in? Looks so good.

  5. The hot oil treatment sounds great for me. My hair is naturally wavy and it really does need a lot more moisture, the ends tend to look dry even when they're not! :)
