5 Drugstore Makeup Gems | #CollabmasInJuly

As a beauty lover, (hoarder) there's nothing more I love than discovering a new product that turns out to be either amazing in quality or price. When I do stumble across these 'Makeup Gems' I always like to fill in my friends on these new discoveries of mine. Of course, I consider all my readers my friends, so I wanted to share some Drugstore Makeup Gems that are just as good, if not better than something you might find at a high-end beauty counter.

Essence Silky Touch Blush

I bought these blushes maybe over a year ago now and they're still one of my go to favourites. The pigmentation and colour payoff is amazing and considering the price, ($5.10 AUD!!) you really do get a bang for your buck! I have mine in the shades Natural Beauty and Babydoll and they are both very pigmented and easy to build up the colour on the cheeks.

Models Prefer Soft Touch Mineral Powder in Soft Focus

This is an amazing dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. If you want the same effect without the price tag, then definitely give this product a try. They give a subtle and beautiful glow to the skin without being over the top glittery and it's a perfect powder to set your foundation, without that cakey look and feel. The only negative I have to offer is that it's only available in Australia and sold exclusively at Priceline... Cue the tears from all my international readers.

e.l.f. Instant Lift Brow Pencil in Deep Brown

This is a really good dupe for the ever so coveted Brow Wiz, although the twist up crayon is a little bit thicker and waxier, it's amazing compared to the price of the Brow Wiz which I love just as much. Perfect for those who favour the brow trend but are on a tight budget!

Rimmel Fix & Protect Makeup Primer

This primer is lightweight with a fluid consistency and provides a perfect base for my foundation.
It is white with the consistency of runny sunscreen, but it goes on smoothly an absorbs into my skin straight away, blurring imperfections and blemishes and also keeps my skin fairly matte and makeup in place all day. The biggest plus for me is that it has an SPF of 25 so it is perfect to wear under my makeup for every day.

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner

This toner is so light and refreshing and does such a top job of keeping my skin hydrated throughout the day. I like to keep this bottle on my desk and freshen up my skin every few hours or whenever I feel the need. It's especially nice in the Summer time when the weather is hot and sticky and you're after that fresh, cool feel on your face.

  1. I find that I really enjoy how the Rimmel primer has an SPF 25 but it just doesn't seem to work too well on me :( It goes all patchy and oily and my concealer/foundation doesn't blend well on top of it at all... so glad it worked well for you though!!! Really want to try that Sukin mist though!!! xx

  4. I got so excited when I saw the Hourglass dupe! It looks amazing, and perfect for me because I don't wear highlighter that often to justify the price tag for the Hourglass option. I'm just going to hope they come to the UK! :)
