A Day in Phillip Island | VLOG

To me, there's nothing that says 'Summer' more than a road trip and as the season is officially drawing to a close here in Melbourne, what better way to commemorate the Summer than by a spontaneous road trip to Phillip Island.

Phillip Island, aka the hometown of the famous Hemsworth brothers and the island where I spent most of my Summer school holidays during my childhood is one of the most idyllic places and a perfect setting for a city break.

So you can see why my friend and I decided on this city break a few weekends ago. I have compiled some footage I took of our spontaneous day out- I hope you enjoy it!

Although the summer time is the tourism season for Phillip Island, don't let that deter you from discovering all the island has to offer. From motor circuits to secluded beaches to wildlife, there's a guarantee of a great time for everyone. Whether you are visiting for a while or just popping in for the day, make sure you find time to check out (in my opinion) the best Fish and Chip shop down in Rhyll.

Have you ever been to Phillip Island?
Where are some of your places to visit for a city break during the Summer?

  1. I can't remember the last time I was there. We used to go there sometimes during the summer too. But my parents ended up buying a beach house further up the coast so we spent most of our time there. I wouldn't mind going back though. It looks like it's changed soooo much and yet the beaches feel so nostalgic.

  4. Watching the video makes me miss the beach so much. We live on the island but we get more rivers than beaches.

    1. There is definitely something so relaxing about being near the beach, although I'm sure the rivers in Canada are much nicer than the ones we have here! LOL

  9. I've been on my fair share of road trips and I love them too! They always put me in such a good mood and really make me feel like I'm on holidays. Haven't been to Phillip Island since I was really little, but I'd love to go back there someday soon.
