Hello 2016!

As per usual, I'm late to jump on the bandwagon again! I have been enjoying my little break from blogging and vlogging (maybe a little too much) and have been caught up with spending quality time with my family and friends, but I'm back now and ready to get right back into the swing of things.

I thought I would kick off my first post of the year with something a little more traditional and share with you some of my aspirations for the upcoming year. I'm not usually one to set New Year's Resolutions because frankly I think it just sets you up for failure as you put yourself under a lot of pressure to change aspects about your life so quickly.

Here are 5 of the things that I am aspiring to achieve during 2016... Let's see where the year takes us!

1. Make the switch to a Plant-Based Diet

I've already made the transition to this one! Basically, I wanted to eat more of good, whole foods and less of dairy, meat and other animal products.  I chose to make the switch for both ethical and health reasons so I would like to see how I go with this throughout the year. I might do a full blog post on this later on in the year if you're interested to learn more!

2. Improve my Photography skills

I'm approaching my second Blog-aversary this year and if you just go and search my first few posts, you can see just how poor my photos were. I feel like I have already made a vast improvement but I would really like to focus on my overall composition skills and quality of my blog photos.

3. Learn a new language

I grew up learning and speaking Greek, so a foreign language isn't a new concept to me. I have been wanting to learn German for years and I'm hoping 2016 is the year I buckle down and crack on with it! I have a few friends and family who live in Germany and I would love to learn the language so I can communicate with them in a language other than English!

4. Move out of my family home

This is the big one! I'm turning 22 this year and I think I am at the ripe old age to move out live on my own. I think I want it for my own independence rather than anything else, so it will be interesting to see if I can achieve this one in 2016.

5. Meet you!

I would ideally love to meet each and every one of you who read my blog and watch my videos, but I'll settle for meeting and collaborating with just a few of you for now. Over the last year my friendships related to blogging have expanded and I can only hope it continues to grow this year!

What are some of your aspirations for the year?
Please share them in the comments, I would love to read them!

    1. Thanks Alyssa! Yes, I totally know what you mean- I come from a Greek heritage so I know all about close knit families. It will be hard, but I am hoping it will also be a little independence for me too!

  12. Welcome back and happy 2016! I can only speak Turkish, English and a little bit German. I really need to improve my German (my fiance is German so I need it to be able to speak with his family). So 2016 will be a year where I will be focusing on learning a language too :) Good luck with all these, and I hope you will be able to achieve them all. x
