My Favourite Real Techniques Brushes

I feel like I'm always going on about my favourite beauty products here on my blog, but I've never really discussed my favourite pick of tools for the job. Real Techniques have been on my radar as some of the most high quality, affordable makeup brushes for the past few years. I can distinctly remember having these sets on my Wish List one Christmas, when they first made an appearance in the beauty scene. Made and designed in collaboration with Sam and Nic Chapman of the Pixiwoo fame on YouTube, I knew I had to have my hands on them.

The Real Techniques brush collection is of unbelievable, almost professional quality for a fraction of the price. It's also made of synthetic fibres, which means it is 100% animal cruelty free.  I've tried so many brushes from their collections, I wanted to share my pick of the creme de la creme with you.

Excuse the dirty makeup brushes, but I think it gives you a feel of just how much I love and use these brushes on an almost daily basis!

100 Arched Powder* - Bold Metals Collection

The bristles of this brush are so soft, I literally just play with the brush on the back of my hand when I'm not using it. I love to use this brush with powder to set my foundation and sometimes even like to use it to buff in my foundation when I'm feeling especially lazy. It is so super quick and I can have my foundation buffed in and flawless in under 3 minutes! I have a few more brushes from this Bold Metals collection that I want to try out, but it seems like it will be the start of a beautiful love affair.

Deluxe Crease Brush - Starter Set

100% my favourite RT brush, ever. This brush isn't sold separately but I would totally buy the entire set again to have a back up of this brush. It's perfect for working with cream eyeshadows, using all over the lid and in your crease for that extra definition.

Base Shadow Brush - Starter Set

I definitely don't use this brush for my eyeshadow, but I've found it works wonders for blending in concealer under my eyes and around my nose. It's quite a dense brush, so you can really buff the product out if you're looking for that invisible 'your skin but better' coverage.

Buffing Brush - Core Collection

This is probably my second favourite RT brush, I use this buffing brush every single time I wear foundation without fail. It's perfect for all different types of foundation, be they mineral, powder or liquid. You can really use this brush to build up the coverage of your foundation or buff it out for a more of a sheer coverage.

Contour Brush - Core Collection

I love to use this brush for contouring and achieving that extra definition in the hollows of my cheeks but sometimes I like it even more when used as a highlight for a light sweep across the top of my cheekbones.

  1. I am the same, I use the buffing brush almost every time I apply my foundation. It's so so good and my base always look perfect with it. I really need to get my hands on the crease brush, I've heard lots of great things about it.
