Rimmel London x Kate Moss | Lasting Finish Nudes + Swatches

I'm back!

I have been a huge fan of the Rimmel London x Kate Moss line for years, so when they announced a 'nudes' lipstick line I almost wee'd myself in excitement. The day they came out in store, I rushed to the display stand and filled up my hand with swatches like a giddy schoolgirl. I'm not going to lie, my first thoughts were that I didn't like them...not at all! The colours weren't working for me and I felt they had really missed the mark. I returned home, disappointed and defeated.

However, I wasn't ready to give up that easily so I scoured the internet, blogs and YouTube channels alike and found some fairly positive reviews on these lipstick colours in which I eventually caved in and thought 'what the hey' let's give it another go! Car keys in hand I was ready to drop into my local Priceline when fate intervened and a package of these lipsticks landed at my door! It's serendipity I tell you!

So here are my two cents on these lipstick swatches for you.

#40 is recommended for those with fair skin with neutral undertones (a.k.a me) but personally I'm not a fan of the 'concealer lips' trend. I prefer wearing nudes which have more of a pink undertone which is why I would probably tend to gravitate to the two middle shades, #42 and #45. Both recommended for those with medium skin, #42 is for those with neutral undertones and #45 is for those with cooler undertones. The darkest nude in the collection, #48 is a gorgeous brown shade, suited for those with darker skin and a warm undertone.

The packaging of the nudes collection is very similar to the rest of the range, the only distinct differences being of course, the colour of the lipstick tube. The nudes packaging also has more of a glossy finish where the previous lines were more of a matte texture.

In terms of formula, they are identical to the previous collections and the nudes formula provides a soft, satin/matte finish on the lips. They also have the iconic Rimmel London smell that the rest of their makeup and lipsticks carry too- I am such a huge fan of this smell! I love being able to smell or use a product and instantly recognise and associate it with a particular brand.

Unfortunately, I am yet to be able to test the longevity of these lipsticks as I have been cooped up in bed ill and I absolutely refuse to infect my makeup when I am sick- I am such a germaphobe like that! I'm sure that if these lipsticks and I get along you will be seeing them in a monthly favourites for sure!

I have decided to change my blogging days yet again (please love me) and I will be posting three times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. I hope you have all been keeping well and I will touch base with you again on Friday!

    1. Don't worry, I hear you Chelsea! I would suggest finding a colour that is similar to your natural lip colour so it doesn't completely wash you out!

  6. What great timing for these beauties to rock up at your door! I haven't tried many nudes, however the darker shades of this collection certainly do look very appealing. I hope you feel better soon Anjelique! :)

    1. Thanks so much lovely, I am definitely on the mend!
I've only had a chance to wear them a few times, but the formula is similar to the rest of the KM lipstick range. I find them creamy on the lips and not drying at all!
