Jamberry Nails Review

Are you frustrated with your chipped nails? Have Shellac manicures ruined your nail bed? Are you time poor but still want your nails to look like you've made an effort? If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then read on!

A little while ago, Jamberry got in contact with me and asked me to review their nail wraps* ahead of their October 1st release date here in Australia. I love all things to do with nails and nail art so I was definitely excited to jump on the bandwagon and try them out.

I'm assured that Jamberry nails wraps are made of high quality vinyl adhesive nail wraps and are easy to apply on your nails. They claim to give you a beautiful manicure at a fraction of the price of a salon manicure- which I'm all about. Supposedly, they can last up to 2 weeks on your fingernails and up to 4-6 weeks on your toenails. I was super impressed by these claims, so I put them to the test. Here are my thoughts.

Overall, I am pretty impressed with how well these nail wraps lasted on my nails, a full 7 days which for me is quite long. I am absolutely rough as guts on my hands and nails and I'm always running them under hot water and using my nails to assist me and open things.

As you might imagine, when I wear nail polish, I find it lasts for a maximum of  3-4 days before it starts to chip and I end up picking it off. With these wraps on, I didn't have to worry about any of that- especially the chipping, because MY GOD it frustrates me so much when my nails are chipped and look like I've never met a bottle of acetone before. It's actually one of my pet hates. So if you're one of those people (especially my friends) who do this, I am slowly dying inside when I see your nails.

"The story of Jamberry Nails begins with three sisters who possess distinct personal tastes, but share a love for style. After an expensive afternoon together at the nail salon, Lyndsey, Christy and Keri vowed to find a simpler, more cost effective way to keep their hands looking polished, while still spending time together. After lots of trial and error, the proprietary nail wraps of Jamberry Nails launched in late 2010. The DIY, at-home application and incredible variety of designs caught on quickly and sales soared. A new era of nail art was born. Gone are the days of mani/pedis that take all afternoon and most of your cash, too! Jamberry Nails arm you with style and confidence, while demanding very little of your time or money." - Jamberry Nails

These nail wraps were pretty easy to apply and Jamberry have their own YouTube channel and a dedicated video where they talk you through the application process. My only fault with these wraps is they took me quite a while to apply (around an hour) and it was a bit fiddly when trying to get the wraps off the paper and onto my nail without touching the adhesive. Though, I'm sure with practice and a little patience it would be an easy application to perfect.

I think these nail wraps are a great alternative to nail art, especially those of us who don't have a steady hand when it comes to painting on the finer details and I would definitely wear them for an occasion or holiday. I've just seen their Halloween themed wraps on their website and they would be awesome to rock throughout October or even at a Halloween Party.

  1. Nail wraps seem like a super easy alternative to nail art. I love the mermaid scales the most! I own a few nail wraps too, I should really go and actually use them at some point.

  3. I've seen a few posts on Jamberry but never tried them myself. I'm pretty good with painting my nails so I guess these never interest me as much. I do like how long lasting these are though, might have to snoop around and see if anything catches my fancy.

    2. I'm with you Shireen, I love painting my own nails and I have trained my left hand to be pretty steady when applying nail polish, but I think these are a great alternative when you want something 'a little more'. Plus, I'm all for that staying power!

  4. I've always thought nail wraps were such a fabulous idea! I'm forever changing my nail colour and I've genuinely been considering nail wraps lately, though I wasn't certain about their staying power. 7 days though, you say? Brilliant! :)

  9. These look amazing! I've never heard of these but they sound really great. I've only used Sally Hansen wraps before but they were a pain to put on so I never bothered trying it again.
