Lancôme Miracle Cushion Foundation Review

The other week I was invited to attend the opening of a new Lancôme store here in Melbourne.

The event itself was beautiful and I got to catch up with a few blogger friends as we 'oohed' and 'ahed' over the new store and products. If you live in Melbourne, I would highly recommend going to check out their store in Myer on Bourke St- it's such a gorgeous counter! At the event we were kindly gifted the new Miracle Touch Foundation* and I was over the moon to try it as I had been lusting after it for ages!

Read on to see how I found it!

Cushion foundations have been the talk of the Asian beauty markets for a while now and it was only time until it was introduced into mainstream Western makeup. For me, I'm glad it was a brand like Lancôme as I have an affinity with the brand that stems back to me as a little girl watching my mum always reaching for Lancôme products.

"The Luxury beauty brand brings its own unique touch to the concept, with a chic compact containing a soft, spongy cushion that features thousands of tiny holes to hold generous amount of the fluid foundation."

Sounds pretty cool, right?

Depending on how much product is used, you can get a fairly good coverage using this foundation. Starting from a light BB coverage and layering up to a medium coverage, I'm pretty impressed with how easily it layers all without looking cakey!

"As well as being a versatile make-up product that leaves skin looking more youthful, dewy and radiant, the fluid foundation offers numerous skincare benefits. It works as a moisturiser, keeping skin hydrated and supple-feeling for up to four hours and also has a SPF 23 protection and anti-ageing properties."

Despite only six shades in the range, Lancôme have really made an effort to cater for all skin tones, including shades for darker skin tones as well as a variety of undertones. Although, there is room for improvement with lighter shades, you fair skin babes may struggle to find your perfect match. I was matched to their second lightest shade in the range but I feel for my skin tone-in Winter at least, I could go for their lightest shade which is 'Porcelaine.'

This foundation gives quite a fresh, dewy finish and even feels a bit cooling on my skin too. I do have oily skin so I like to set this with a powder and I find that it actually lasts quite well on my skin throughout the day. I carry the compact with me incase I need to refresh my base at all and use it straight over any powders I already have on.

Can I stress that this foundation doesn't cake at all?

Longevity-wise, this foundation lasts pretty well on my oily skin and is perfect for when I need a bit of coverage for everyday wear and while running errands. I've been finding that I have been reaching for it more and more (and I've only had it for two weeks)! If your skin is more on the drier side I bet my bottom dollar that you will love the look and feel of this on your skin as it is hydrating, long lasting and light as air on the skin. It's also perfect for those who love a 'no makeup, makeup look' and for those who are time poor.
