CLINIQUE Cleansing Balm Review | AnjelCo

Yes mum, I am in love... with a beauty product.

I have been using this Clinique 'Take The Day Off' Cleansing Balm for around a month now and I am in love. First of all let me say, cleansing balms are definitely worth the hype. I'm so glad I purchased this product because I don't think I can ever look back.

The product itself is a solid type of balmy grease which you rub between your fingers, warming up the product which you then apply directly onto your dry face. I like to rub in circular motions all over my face and gently smooth out the balm around my eyes and into the roots of my eyelashes.

The balm literally 'eats' away at your makeup and everything comes off with some warm water and a muslin cloth. Personally, I like to take a cleanser to my face before rinsing with water as I feel the product comes off easier and you don't need anything else to take it off, best of all you can continue with your night cleansing routine from there!

This product leaves my face feeling so clean and refreshed for a good night's sleep and although it is an oil based product it does not leave a greasy residue on the skin and yet it is also non drying, win for everyone!

I use this generally in the evenings before bed to 'take the day off' (as the name suggests ; ] )but you can use it anytime of the day you like. I cannot explain to you how well this product works at breaking down your makeup but I highly recommend you try it at least once.

Cleansing Balm VS. Makeup Wipes?

Ah, the age old (not really) question!

This one is totally on personal preference but I am not a fan of the good 'ol makeup wipe.
It's sheer laziness really, who can be bothered sitting there with a wet wipe and rubbing their face for 15 minutes trying to get off their mascara?! Uh-uh, not me.

So I'm converting to a cleansing balm, simple.
We are happy and in love!
Accepting wedding gifts next month.

How about you, what do you feel about the Balm VS. Wipe debate?

What do you use to clean off your makeup?

  1. I have never tried a cleansing balm before! Super interesting to read about. I am pretty old fashioned and just use soap and water, but this looks like it's worth a try!

  2. I use to use a Clinique melting cleanser but it was discontinued. This looks like the same thing just rebranded so I must try it. Great review. x

  3. Absolutely love, love cleansing balms/butters. A favourite of mine at the moment is The Body Shop's Camomile Cleansing Butter, definitely check that out as a cheaper alternative. :)

    Lots of love,
