DIY: Exfoliating Sugar Scrub | AnjelCo

Do you have dull, dry, skin?

The key to good looking skin is exfoliation. Today's blog post is all about how to get rid of those dead skin cells and it will literally make your skin feel as smooth as a baby's butt. If that interests you keep on reading!

(Side note: I would recommend NOT to use this on your face, particularly if you have sensitive skin as the sugar may be too abrasive for your face).

I wanted to keep this exfoliating recipe as natural and accessible as possible so I have stuck to basics and used ingredients that you would find in a typical kitchen.

You will need:
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon of Bi-Carb Soda
- 2 heaped tablespoons of brown sugar

Optional:
- a drizzle of olive oil

Honey is packed full of good antioxidants and helps to speed up the natural exfoliation process.
Bi-Carb Soda/ Baking Soda is a non-abrasive exfoliant and is something you would already have in your kitchen. Sugar will act as natural exfoliating beads that you won't feel guilty about washing down the drain and into the sea because the sugar naturally breaks down in water. Olive Oil is also a natural moisturizer.

All you need to do is heat up the honey in the microwave on high for 10- 15 seconds and then combine all the ingredients. It won't look beautiful but I swear it does the job perfectly!

Simple!

This batch will probably last you a few uses so put it into an empty jar, stick a cute label on it and pop it in your shower to use throughout the week. I would recommend you use this scrub with water, whether it be in the bath or shower as the scrub works much better this way!
